Which Mediums To Use Green Rush Nutrients in
The nutrients are powder based and concentrated, they mix in water very easily and so can be used in various setups. Our versatile nutrients are suitable for various setups, including soil, coco, foliar spray, and rockwool applications. It's worth noting that our nutrients may not be entirely water soluble, leaving behind some particles after mixing.
Germination During the germination and seedling stages of a plant’s life, they often don’t require a whole ton of additives. Root boosters that contain phosphorus & potassium are beneficial as they help the plant to develop a strong root base and allow for continued growth throughout the plant’s life. Even still, the plant in its first three weeks of life is fragile and should only be given small amounts of nutrients if any.
Vegetation
A plant will enter the vegetation stage in the 3-4th week of life when it has grown out it’s first set of leaves. This period of the plant’s life is when it is focused on growing out it’s stem and new formation of leaves. During this stage the plant will not grow any flowers or buds but rather will grow outwards according to the world around it and will require higher amounts of nitrogen compared to phosphorus and potassium. Often the medium into which it is grown, as well as the room the roots have to grow, will determine the overall size of the plant. For example, the size of the pot to which the plant is grown in will limit its height and outward growth. The plant will stay in this stage of growth anywhere from 4 to 15+ weeks depending on light cycles and type of plant.
During the first week of veg the plant is still in it’s initial growth and so we recommend using only 50% the recommended dosage (half teaspoon per litre of water). In week 2 and onward you can proceed with the regular amount of nutrient which is 1 teaspoon per litre of water.
Bloom
The plant’s Bloom or Flowering stage is all about bud growth. Your plant will cease to grow in height or width and will focus all of its energy on developing flowers. Because of this, the plant requires less nitrogen and more phosphorus and potassium to operate. Our Beefy Bud Bloom contains the right balance of NPK that your plant requires in flower.
Flushing
Flushing involves halting nutrient feeding to the plant for a minimum of two weeks before harvest. This allows the plant to utilize excess nutrients in the growing medium. Flushing does not require excessive watering; instead, simply water the plant as usual during this period.
General Rule of Thumb
Growing comes in many different climates, temperatures and setups. Our number 1 rule of thumb is to do what works best for you and the plants. Like humans, plants are unique. They often require different love and care depending on the type and individual unique setup.
